HELIDRON - DESARROLLO DE UN AVIÓN SOLAR REMOTAMENTE PILOTADO PARA MISIONES DE VIGILANCIA - RTC-2016-4739-8

The main objective of the project is to design and manufacture a solar airplane, non-polluting, low cost of manufacture and operation, and with great autonomy, whose purpose is to obtain geophysical data aimed at monitoring the areas flown with greater precision of what the systems shipped in satellite do.

The work of CTC will focus on the development of a novel navigation system based on GNSS sensors and redundant INS, which will provide a position and orientation solution to the aircraft of great precision and robustness.

The project is coordinated by the Technological and Renewable Energy Institute (ITER), a center of research of international reference in renewable energies, engineering, telecommunications and the environment. The company AEROSERTEC and the Component Technology Center (CTC) participate.

This initiative is co-financed by the 2016 Challenges Collaboration program of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness through FEDER funds and has a budget of € 775,542. The project lasts 27 months.
